Fish Bowl Rules

 

1.      ELIGIBILITY- Teams will consist of the top three placed teams from each of the participating leagues. With a max of 3 people per boat.

 

2.      SPORTSMANSHIP- Because we are representing our fishing leagues to the public, we must follow the Highest standards of courtesy. Any behavior deemed inappropriate by event members will result in expulsion from the event.

 

3.      PARKING LOT COURTESY- Because of very limited parking, teams must arrive in only one vehicle. NO EXCEPTIONS. After each event, every participating person from our leagues will take part in landing clean up. We will clean up the landing regardless of whose garbage it is and remove it from site! Remember we are representing each other and ourselves. This is our way of giving something back to the lakes we fish.

 

4.      DATE- Fish Bowl will be held the second Saturday in September, 13th 2008.

 

5.      FISHING HOURS- Fishing hours are 7:00 am to 1 pm. Please be at the access by 6:30 to turn in fees and get a score sheet. Ease off is at 7 am and all fishing must cease 1 pm. All boats must be at the weigh in site by 1 pm. All late boats must have a good reason. (Mechanical failure, DNR check) or they will be disqualified. If you are stopped by the DNR you must have him sign your score sheet.

7.      FEES- $15 per person for Fish Bowl

- $10 per person for Big Fish Pot

                    - $25 per person total

·         > PRIZES- The money will be given out to the top three teams with the following split: First place 50%, Second place 30%, Third place 20%. Big Fish Pot will be divided by the total number of species brought in that day & awarded to the largest of each species.

 

8.      TIES- In the event of a tie, All Ties will be broken by A single coin toss! (1 toss). NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

9.      PLAQUE- Winning team is responsible for the costs of updating the Plaque and must make it available for the following years event.

 

10. PREFISHING- There will be no pre-fishing allowed 48 hrs before the scheduled event.

 

11. WEATHER POSTPONEMENTS- There will be no weather postponements. Please use good judgment.

 

12. METHODS OF FISHING- You must follow all Minnesota State rules and regulations. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

 

13. MEASURE IN- At the end of the event everybody must bring they’re fish in to the scoring area to have they’re fish measured for length and be awarded points. Exception #1: If you catch a trophy fish and want to release it then you must bring it to another boat of different league and have them measure and sign your score sheet.

 

14. SCORING- A point system is used for keeping score. Each team will receive a score sheet at the beginning of the event. They must keep this for any on water scoring and then turn it in at measure in. Each team is allowed a 6 fish limit of each species listed on the attached point-size chart, except for Muskie where you are allowed one per person. No more than 6 fish of any species shall be brought in to the measuring board. NO EXCEPTIONS. The first 6 fish pulled from the tub will count at your six fish regardless of size. All state laws and regulations must be observed. (Some lakes may have their own special restrictions).

 

15. DEAD FISH- All Dead fish must be removed by the team that caught them. No Dead fish will be returned to the water or left at the access.

Northern Pike:

Walleye:
14-15 (1 pt)        16-17 (2 pts)         18-19 (3 pts)         20-23 (4 pts)         24 & above (5 pts.)

 

Crappie:
9 (1 pt)               10 (2 pts)               11 (3 pts)               12 (4 pts)               13 & above (5 pts)

 

Sunfish:
7½ (1 pt.)           8½ (2 pts)              9½ (4 pts)              10 & above (5 pts)

 

Musky:
40 & above (10pts)
