Gardening/Yardening Tips

My husband is into organic applications in the yard and garden. Thank goodness as we are bombarded with enough chemicals in our daily lives. Now if only our neighbors would all comply with organic methods!! This page provides some ideas and resources from organic gardening resources. Where known, resources have been referenced. These resources include television shows, books, magazines, as well as word of mouth.

Yard Bath
Apply every two weeks (can be combined with Lawn Spray for single application)
This concoction makes yard smell wonderful, keeps bugs down, silky grass.
1 cup liquid dish soap--lemon scented
1 cup chewing tobacco marinaded (4 finger pinch boiled in a quart of water)
1 cup mouthwash, like listerine
1 cup Fels Nafta soap(1 inch shaved and boiled in a quarter of water, add 4 oz. dish soap)
Mix the above mixture together; put into 2 qt. pop bottle, fill remainder of bottle with water.
Use hose sprayer attachment which allows you to attach hose and pop bottle to spray lawn with mixture. This spray attachment can be found on commercial liquid fertilizer bottles.

1 can beer
1 cup dish soap--lemon scented best
1 cup ammonia
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup liquid lawn food--commercial
