About the AuthorI spent almost ten years in the Air Force and, like many other technical writers, I fell into the job. My last four years in the Air Force, I was working as a technical communicator and didn't even know it!I wrote procedures, edited proposals, and created multimedia presentations simply because I enjoyed it. I had always loved writing and technology and finally found a job that combined the two. Since I got out, I have been working as a technical writer, attending school, and researching the job market. Currently, I am writing at a manufacturing company in St. Cloud, Minnesota. I love the area and my job is interesting, but doesn't consume all my time. The project that is occupying most of my time is a new magazine for large families. It is called Joyfull Noise and it is set to launch in September of 2000. Being the father of eight wonderful children, this magazine is a long-held dream. If you have a large family, or have any friends with large families, please send them by the site. About the SiteThe Newbie site is intended to help prospective techwriters find out what employers are looking for in applicants. If you really want to know what I think about what I've found in the job ads, click here. If you are a newbie, I wish you all the best in your search. If you are a pro, email me your comments or suggestions.
