IE 6.0 Install and Setup Instructions

First, download Internet Explorer 6.0 from Cloudnet, and save it to your Desktop.

If you have Windows XP, you already have Internet Explorer 6.0 or above. Do NOT install from this download. You should request specific instructions for Windows XP from Cloudnet.

IE 6.0 Install on Win98, WinMe, WinNT4, or Win2000:

1. Double click on the "Cloudnet_IE6.exe" icon.
2. Click "Yes". In a few seconds the Internet Explorer 6.0 Installation program will begin.
3. Click on "I Accept the Agreement", and click "Next."
4. It should then Initialize the Setup.
5. Click on "Install Now - Full Set of Components", Click "Next."
6. The setup program should now install components to your computer.
7. When it finishes installing components, click "Finish". The setup program will either restart your computer automatically, or ask you to restart it manually.
8. If you are just upgrading from Internet Explorer 4 or 5. Stop at this point, you should not need to go through the setup again.

IE 6.0 Setup with Win98, WinMe, WinNT4, or Win2000

Double click on the "Connect to the Internet" Icon on your desktop. This will start the Internet Connection Wizard. If the Connection Wizard does not start, click "Start", "Programs", "Accessories", "Communications", and "Internet Connection Wizard". On each screen, enter the requested information and click "Next" to continue.

On the first screen, select the third of the three options, "I want to set my connection manually..." Click "Next".

Setting Up Your Internet Connection

Click on "I connect using my phone line and a modem." Click "Next".

1. Internet Connection Information: Enter telephone number: 2571040. Uncheck "Dial using area code and country code." Click "Next".
2. Internet account logon Information: Enter your Cloudnet user name and password. Click "Next".
3. Connection name: Type "Cloudnet" in this field. Click "Next".

Set Up Your Internet Mail Account

Do you want to setup an Internet mail account now? Click "Yes." Click "Next".

• Your Name: Display name: This setting can be anything you like. If you're not sure what you want, type in your real name, like John Smith. If this account is for your whole family, simply type in your last name, or something like Smith family. If this account is for a business, type your business name. Click "Next".
• Internet E-mail Address: E-mail address: Enter your Internet email address, from your Cloudnet Connection Information sheet. Click "Next".
• E-mail Server Names: My incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Incoming mail (POP, IMAP, or HTTP) server is pop.cloudnet.com Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is smtp.cloudnet.com Click "Next".
• Internet Mail Logon: Account name: This is your Cloudnet email user name. Password: The password for you Cloudnet email account. Click "Next".
• Completing the Internet Connection Wizard: Uncheck "To connect to the Internet immediately, ... " Click "Finish".

You should keep these instruction in case you need to reinstall Internet Explorer 6.0 again, or on another computer.

To change your Home Page or Start Page

Double-click Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, choose "Internet Options." Enter www.cloudnet.com in the Home Page Address field. Click "OK."
