Setting SMTP authentication in Eudora.
SMTP authentication is required for sending mail using smtp.cloudnet.com from outside the St. Cloud local Dialing area, or when using an Internet Service Providor other then Cloudnet.
For Cloudnet customers who wish to use the Cloudnet SMTP servers (smtp.cloudnet.com) to send mail, and are connecting to the internet using one or more of the following:
- Cloudnet's Nation-Wide dial-up modem pool, from outside the St. Cloud local dialing area.
- a broadband ISP service, e.g. Charter, Astound, etc...
- another dialup service providor other then Cloudnet, e.g. AOL, MSN, etc...
You will need to enable the SMTP authentication support within your Eudora mail client.
Configure Outgoing Mail SMTP Authentication for Eudora:
- Click on the "Tools Menu" and select "Options".
- Select the "Sending Mail" category.
- Make sure to set the "SMTP Server:" to "smtp.cloudnet.com".
- Check the box for "Allow Authentication".
- Set "Secure Sockets when Sending:" to "Never".
- Click "OK".
