Cloudnet CD – Opera Setup Instructions
For Windows 95, 98, 98se, Millenium, 2000, and XP

Starting your new Cloudnet CD:
Place the CD in the CD-Rom drive. The setup program should run automatically.
If it doesn’t, click on "My Computer", (In Windows XP, My Computer may be found in the "Start" menu).
Double click your CD-Rom drive, If the start up screen does not appear, double click "Setup".

Installing Opera on Windows98, 98se, Millenium, NT4, 2000, and XP:
Click on the Opera install button. This will launch the Opera installer.



Read the Welcome screen,
then click "Next".
Software License Agreement:
Read the Software license.
Click "I Accept".
Select Destination Directory:
It is recommended that you accept the default setting.
Check "indevidueal Opera profiles for each user
on this computer".
Click "Next."
Icon Creation:
If you do not want an icon created in any of the 3 areas, uncheck the corresponding box,
then click "Next".
Ready to Install:
Click "Install".

The program should now start unpacking and copying the files to be setup.
Installation Completed:
Uncheck "Run Opera when I press [Finish]".
Click "Finish".

You should now restart your computer.


Setting up Opera for the first time.

Open your Opera browser by clicking ont he opera icon.
You should be able to find the Opera icon either on your desktop, in your quick launch tray, or in your Start menu.



If you get an error message stating "POP3 Server unvailable..." That will be because you are not currently connected to the Internet"
Click "OK"
If you get this screen:
Check "Do not show this dialog again".
Click "Yes" if you will be using Opera as your default web browser.
Click "No" if you will not be using Opera as your default web browser.
First Time Setup:
If you see this screen, Cloudnet recommends:
Click "Show generic selections of graphical ads".
These settings can be changed later in the Opera preferences.

Click "Next".
Setting your Homepage:
Open your Opera browser.
Click "Tools", then "Preferences".
Select "Start with home page".
Enter: www.cloudnet.com
Check "Open pages in tabs".
Check "Show close button on each tab".
Select "Block unwanted pop-ups".
Select "English [en]".
Click "OK".
Setting up Opera to Send and Receive E-Mail:
Open your Opera Browser.
Click on "Tools",
Then click on "Mail and Chat Accounts".
Then click "Yes".
New Account Wizard:
Most of the information requested in this wizard can be found on the "Cloudnet Connection Information" sheet.

Select what kind of account you would like to create:
Click "Regular e-mail (POP)",
then click "Next".
Real name:
This is the neame that will appear int he "From"
field of the message you send out.
I can be your real name, nickname, Company name,
Or something like "The Smith Family".
Email address:
Enter your Cloudnet e-mail address.
Organization:
Enter your business name, or you can leave this field blank.
Click "Next".
Login name:
Enter the username for your Cloudnet e-mail account.
Password:
Enter the password for your Cloudnet e-mail account.
Click "Next".
Incoming Server: pop.cloudnet.com

Uncheck "Use secure connection [TLS]".
Uncheck "Leave messages on server".

Outgoing Server: smtp.cloudnet.com

Then Click "Finish".
If you would like to read more about the Opera mail and news client, click "Yes".
If you do not want to read about the Opera mail and news client at this time, click "No"



Setting up your dialer:

If you have not setup Internet Explorer or Netscape on this computer,
follow these instructions to setup a dialer on your computer.


Windows 95, 98, 98se:Double click on "My Computer", and then on "Dialup Networking".
Windows Millenium:
Click "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", and then double click on "Dialup Networking".

Double click "Make new connection".
Enter "Cloudnet" in place of "My Connection". Click "Next".
Leave the Area Code Blank – enter 2571040 in the phone number field. Click "Next".
Click Finish.
Now right click on your new Cloudnet icon, and left click on "Properties".
Uncheck "Use Area Code and Dialing properties". (This might say "Use area code and country code").
Click "OK".
Now double click your new Cloudnet icon. Enter your Cloudnet username and password.
Check the "Save Password" box if you do not want to have to enter your password every time you connect.
Click Connect. You will need to connect at least one time successfully from this window in order to save the username and password entries.
After this you should be able to connect normally.

Windows XP:
Click "Start", then "Control Panel".
Click "Network and Internet Connections". If you do not see this icon, you may be in "Classic" mode, simply skip to the next line.
Click "Network Connections".
Click "Create a new connection".
Welcome to the new Connection Wizard: Click "Next".
Network Connection Type: Select "Connect to the internet", then click "Next".
Getting Ready: Select "Setup my connection manually", then click "Next".
Internet Connection: Select "Connect using a dial-up modem", then click "Next".
Connection Name: ISP name – enter Cloudnet, then click "Next".
Phone Number to Dial: Phone number – enter 2571040, then click Next.
Internet Account Information:
Username – enter your Cloudnet username,
Password – enter your Cloudnet password,
Confirm password – enter your Cloudnet password again.
Check Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer".
Check "Make this the default Internet connection".
If you want to activate the Internet firewall for this connection, check "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection",
If you do not want to activate the Internet connection firewall for this connection, uncheck this box, then click "Next".
Completing the New Connection Wizard:
If you want to place a shortcut to this connection on your desktop, check "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop".
If you do not want a shortcut to this connection placed on your desktop, do not check this box.
Click "Finish".

You should keep these instructions in case you need to re-install Opera 7.20 again, or on another computer.
