Win98 Setup Instructions

Follow these directions carefully to set up your Cloudnet account within minutes. And, as always, call us for help at 240-8243 if you have any trouble.

• First, close all programs.
• Click on the Start menu. Then point to Settings, Click on Control Panel and double-click on Internet Options.
• In the Address blank, enter www.cloudnet.
• Next click the Connections tab along the top of this window, then click the Setup button.
  
  NOTE: If you don't see a Connections tab or Setp button, you may have Internet Explorer 3 or 4, or Netscape. Stop here and call Cloudnet for help, or you can continue with these instructions. You'll see extra screens and different screens, but most ask for the same information.

On the following screens, click Next after entering the requested information.

Welcome to the Internet Connection Wizard

Select the 3^rd option, "I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)."

Setting Up Your Internet Connection

Select the option, "I connect through a phone line and a modem."

Step 1 of 3: Internet Account Connection Information:

• There is no need to enter the Area Code unless you'll be using Cloudnet on this computer outside of the St. Cloud local calling area.
• Enter 257-1040 in the telephone number field. Do not enter your home phone number in this field.
• You may continue to step 2.

Step 2 of 3: Internet Account Logon Information: Enter your username and password found on your Cloudnet Connection Info sheet.

Step 3 of 3: Connection Name: Enter "Cloudnet" as your connection name.

Set Up Your Internet Mail Account: Keep this setting on "Yes." Then, if given a choice, choose "Create a new Internet mail account" and continue.

Your Name: This entry can actually be anything you want. If you're not sure what to use, simply enter your real name. If this account is for your whole family, simply type in your last name. If this account is for your whole business, type the business name.

Internet E-mail Address: Enter your E-mail Address, from your Cloudnet Connection Info sheet.

E-mail Server Names: Keep the first setting on "POP3" and enter the Incoming and Outgoing mail server names from your Cloudnet Connection Information sheet.

Internet Mail Logon:

• In the Account Name field, enter your Username from your Cloudnet Connection Information sheet.
• Enter your Password in the Password blank.
• You will need a mark in the Remember Password box if you don't want to enter your password each time you get your email.
• Do not check the box next to "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"

Completing the Internet Connection Wizard: If your phone line is hooked up to the computer and you want to get on the Internet right now, simply click Finish. Otherwise, uncheck the box and click Finish.

Keep these instructions! You can use this setup again if you ever need to reinstall your Cloudnet settings.

On the Dial-up Connection screen, check any boxes you'd like ad click Connect.

You're on the Interent! You can start on Cloudnet's homepage, and begin browsing by using one of our search engines.

Next time, you can open Internet Explorer by double-clicking on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop screen.
