Netscape Mail and News Setup

Netscape Navigator versions 2.0 and up come with built-in email and Usenet newsreading packages. To personalize them for you, follow along the instructions and screenshots below.

In the main Netscape Navigator window, click on Options and Mail and News Preferences. There will be five tabs at the top. You need to fill out information on the Servers and Identity tabs.

These entries must be made on the following screen. The rest of the entries can be left as the defaults:

    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server:    mail.cloudnet.com
    Incoming Mail (POP) Server:     mail.cloudnet.com
    Pop User Name:                  (your username goes here)
    News RC Directory:              (leave as the default)

Click on the Identity tab and you'll see the rest of the setup information on the following screen that you'll need to enter.

    Your Name:            (your real name)
    Your Email:           username@cloudnet.com
    Reply-to Address:     (leave this blank)
    Your Organization:    (optional company/organization name)
    Signature File:       (optional text file to be tacked on)
