Uploading your Webfiles to your Virtual Server with Ws_ftp for Windows

If you have downloaded and installed Ws_ftp on your Windows 95/98 computer, and created your webfiles. You should now follow these instructions to upload your webfiles to the Cloudnet server.

  1. Setup your Ws_ftp Program - Start your Wsftp program, the first screen should look like this;

    Fill in the fields as shown here, exept you will replace "www.yourdomain.com" with   your domain name, and you will also replace "demo2" with your Cloudnet username and put your Cloudnet password in the password field. Then click OK.    (Hint - If you check  Save Pwd  you will not need to enter a password each time you connect Ws_ftp to your area of the Cloudnet server).

  2. Choose the files to transfer - You should now see a screen like this one;

    The left screen represtents your computer and the right screen represents the Cloudnet server.

    In the left screen, double click on the green arrow until you've moved back to "C:\", then double click on the folders to get to where your web files are located on your computer.

    In the right screen double click on the folder   www-docs, this is the folder you are going to be putting your web files into.

  3. Transfering your web files to the server - Highlight the files you want to transfer.     (Hint - If you hold the left shift key down while clicking on indiviual files you can choose as many files as you wish).

    Once you have highlighted the files you want to copy to the server, click the arrow between the windows pointing in the direction you wish to copy the files. (In this case it would be the arrow pointing to the right).

  4. Viewing your web pages online - You should now be able to view the pages you just copied to the server by going to your browser and typing your virtual domain name (www.yourdomain.com) into the Address (or Location) bar near the top of your browser window and hitting "ENTER" on your keyboard.

If you create more pages, with other names, such as otherpage.html, simply add   "/otherpage.html"  after your domain name
  (www.yourdomain.com/otherpage.html)
