Since Br. John left Pat and Dave have had some interesting musical adventures but we are still pretty much what we were before John's departure.
In other words- some middle-aged gits who like to sit around and pick our favorite tunes on Guitars, Harmonica, Banjo, Mandolin and sometimes even a Bass or Recorder or Kazoo.

We try to play without electric amplification whenever possible, using just plain old acoustic instruments sounding like themselves. This is sometimes confusing to people who are used to chest-thumping megawatts of power and fancy light shows. But I must say that we have had some great results this way- i.e. 25-30 people dancing silently in synch with the beat and having a great time.

From the St. Joseph Newsleader, May 2004 |
We will use an amplifier when we absolutely have to, sometimes a room is just too big and crowded or if we play for large outdoor parties. But even then we try to play to microphones rather than "plugged in" and we get as close to a “natural” sound as we can.
And light shows? You’ve got to be kidding.

A note from Dave:
Well, Br. John is out of town and I'm back at the station trying to keep the train on the track.
I've been trying to get together a CD of my songs and hope to have something available soon.
Anyway, I'll be doing a solo act at the St. Joseph Bo Diddley's in the foreseeable future and I hope you'll come hear me play.
Dave
