Telescopes
and Imagers
(Please be
patient while the images load)
The telescopes and
imagers shown below were used to obtain the images on these pages. These
pictures are not so good, but at least you can see the equipment used.
I will try to post better pictures of the equipment when time permits.
The telescope below
is our 10" LX200GPS made by Meade. The SAC-7b imager is shown attached
to the telescope. For experienced amateurs, note the homemade dew-shield.
It is made from sheet aluminim, duct tape, and the inside is lined with
black felt. It works great at a total cost of only about $20.00 for all
materials.
Imagers used obtain
deep space objects on these pages are are shown below. Note that there
are a lot of cords. It can be a real challange to make sure they don't
get tangled up or tripped over during an imaging session. The SBIG ST-7e
is shown with the power supply only. It too has a variety of cords needed
for operation.
