Welcome! Bienvenidos! Thunderheart Persians is a small Persian cattery in Central Minnesota. We formerly resided in South America. I have loved Persians since owning and showing my first Persian in 1966. I was 12 years old then! “Piping Rock’s Capulet” was a black smoke female that I showed to her championship.
The “Persian look” has certainly changed over the years, however, I continue to breed carefully for a gentle, “”mellow” temperament balanced with the breath taking Persian show standard. I love the look of a sweet open expression with a tank for a body. We are always trying to improve not only the integrity of the breed standard, but also working to improve our cats immune systems and eliminate the current health issues facing Persians. We are currently in the process of DNA testing all our cats for PKD and gradually eliminating this genetic defect. I have 8 adult cats and I breed sparingly, and only for that next special show kitten as well as placing a few to special loving homes! I wish to give a very appreciative thank you to both Sue Bloomquist and Gary Powell of Joleigh and Red Sky for their long friendships and continuing support. I would like to also thank Jean Green of Steeplechase for her contributions to my cats as well. Steeplechase Elijah is a hoot and a great cat. He is also a loving pet in our home.
