Pairing Families FOR Fellowship Mission:

We seek to build stronger communities by providing a safe environment for families with children to engage in social and cultural exchange through large and small group activities.

Who:
We are looking for at least six families who have children under the age of 12.

We are seeking three families who have lived in Minnesota for a while and are knowledgeable about the area (established families).

Also, we are seeking three families who have recently immigrated to Minnesota to pair with the established families.

Why:
We believe that it is important to build community are create diverse friendships. We hope that pairing families with young children and providing them with a framework of interaction will enable relationship building in a safe and non-threatening environment. We are starting this project by focusing on families with children under the age of twelve because we believe that children especially are open to, and can benefit from, diverse family friendships.

What:
Families will be asked to attend an introductory and closing whole group session and to meet three other times on their own.

When:
The fall of 2001 we will be conducting our pilot project. If it is successful we will seek to continue and expand the project in the future.

Our first family meeting will take place on October 6, 2001. This will be a chance for all Pairing Families For Fellowship (PFFF) members to gather and introduce themselves to the large group.

Additionally, families will meet the family they are paired with, spend some time getting to know each other, and with the help of PFFF staff set up three additional dates they are able to meet together before December 1st.

Our closing meeting will take place on December 1st, 2001. Again, all participating families will meet with Pairing Families FOR Fellowship members. All participants will also get a chance to do an evaluation of the program.

How to apply:
If you would like to be a part of Pairing Families for Fellowship or would like more information please fill out and mail in the information listed under application bellow.
Once we receive your application an organizing member of PFFF will contact you to answer any questions and complete the application process.

Other information:
If you are interested in being a part of PFFF but are unable to participate this fall, please fill out the application and send it to us along with a note that you cannot participate this fall, but would be interested in receiving future information.

Pairing Families FOR Fellowship
Pairing Families FOR fellowship is a program developed during the summer 2001 Minnesota Peacemaker Project. The Minnesota Peacemaker Project is a youth training and organizing seminar which was started in 1999 in an effort to give meaning to the United Nation's declaration of the Years 2001-2001 as the Decade of Non-Violence. The Minnesota Peacemaker Project is sponsored by the Minnesota Fellowship of Reconciliation.
