PDF Resumes

Adobe's Acrobat is fast becoming the most abused program on the Internet. Though it is a great tool for some things, it is not the cure-all that many people believe: It is not suited for general web work, nor is it really useful for long documents—who really wants to print 100+ pages?

That said, I will state that Acrobat is a terrific program for electronic resumes. With little preparation, PDF will ensure that your resume maintains its proper format and pagination. Plus, you can use whatever program you prefer to design your resume and simply print it to PDF.

Acrobat Settings

There are far fewer problems with Acrobat files. You should still embed all your fonts and ensure you set the compatibility to PDF 3 format. That's it. you now have a resume that will maintain its formatting and it is less than half the size of that Word file!
