Mid November 1999 - Some people came over to visit and the lady picked me up and cuddled me. I liked her; she was soft and comforting. She stroked my fur and spoke softly to me. I was so comfortable that I fell asleep in her arms. I hope she visits again!November 1999 - My family is going to move to North Dakota! I am not happy, they say I can't go. If I don't find a new place to live, they're going to take me to the Humane Society. (NO, NO...not that!) I hope that lady comes over again and rescues me from that fate.
November 1999 - She's here! I tried and tried to show her how much I wanted to go home with her, but she left without me. Now what am I going to do?
End of November 1999, right before Thanksgiving - My last chance, she's back. I WILL put myself into her heart. I don't want to go to the Humane Society, who knows what kind of home I would end up in.
Later the same day - Oh joy! I have a new home with her! She was just waiting for the man to make the decision. Apparently I impressed him too! How silly these humans can be though, they were both just waiting for the other to say yes. The lady cuddled me into her coat and took me outside. It was cold and I was a little scared. It was my first time going beyond the door. She opened another door and got inside a big, blue thing that moved. It had a name on the front....Dragon Wagon. I've heard tales about dragons, I hope this one is friendly. When I arrived at my new home, they were all ready for me. I had my own litter box! I did not have to share it with 4 other cats like before. My own food and water dish too. Wow! I was impressed. There were 3 more humans there too. They are called “teenagers”. (I've heard stories about them too. Some of them are as scary as certain dragons can be.) I will give them the benefit of the doubt though. The lady and the man are nice so I wouldn't think they would keep bad teenagers. If they are bad though, maybe they will have to go to the Humane Society. The lady did not want me to be alone the first night so she took me into her bedroom and put a soft pillow on the floor for me to sleep on. Aha! She doesn't know anything about cats. I meowed and meowed by the bed. She kept getting up and putting me back on the pillow. She even tried lying down on the floor beside me until I fell asleep. But I fooled her by pretending to be sleeping. As soon as she tried to move, I gave her my sweetest pitiful look and meowed like I was crying. I succeeded in pestering enough until she took me up into the bed with her. (The humans didn't know that once I got my way, I get to sleep with them any time I want!)
