Mid December 1999 - Oh me-wow!  A tree has been brought into the living room and it has all sorts of dangly things hanging from it for me to play with.  There are lots of wrapped boxes with sparkly bows on them that I'd love to get my claws into.  But, I get scolded when I try exercising my cat instincts.  I'll just have to sneak down during the night (when the humans are sleeping) and climb/play in the tree.

Christmas Eve 1999 - What fun.  Some of the boxes were for me!  I got toys!!!  One of the items was a square carpet with a long springy thing on it.  On the top of the spring was a bright fluffy ball.  Imagine my surprise when I tried to get that ball and it started swinging back and forth.  I also got this green ring with a yellow ball inside of it.  I tried to get it out but every time I attempted to retrieve it, the ball would just go round and round inside the ring.  My family thought it was funny when I would try.

Christmas Day 1999 - This was harrowing and scary.  My house became filled with lots of strangers.  I didn't like it and had to hide.  Whenever one of the strangers would come near me a strange noise came out of me.  They called it "hissing" and the humans didn't like the sound.  Hey...cool...I'll use that noise when I want to be left alone!

January 2000 - What a way to start a new century.  I had to go to the doctor.  I was poked with a needle and
he looked in my ears.  Mom brought home some medicine to clean my ears.  I'm not looking forward to that!  He also told mom to bring me back in a few months to be neutered.  I wonder what that means?

February-May 2000 - Boy have I ever been busy the last few months.  I have been growing like a weed (so Mom and Dad say) and learning all sorts of new things.  I have been teaching my family to understand my
language!  I make different sounds for my moods and wants.  They seem to be getting a grasp on what I am saying.  I guess they can be controlled by me!  I have discovered that there are all sorts of wonderful things outside of the house.  Suddenly I love to go outside and chase bugs, watch the things called birds, lay in the sun and investigate all the sounds I hear.  However, I am restricted by a harness and leash.  Don't they know that it
is a cat's prerogative to go where we want when we want to?  I've also found out how much fun it is to climb and jump up on high places.  Another restriction comes with that though, they won't let me climb the screens on the windows.  Nothing like taking the fun away!  I'll just have to sneak again like I did with the Christmas tree, which by the way was taken away.  One nasty discovery was made in the past few months.  My mom's daughter came to visit and brought animals they called "dogs".  Animals is the right word for them.  They're noisy and they don't know how to use a litter box.  They have to be taken outside on a regular basis to do their "business".  And they tried to chase me.  But I fooled them and stayed out of their site.  I can go places where they can't reach me!  Mom says I have to go now, she has to call that doctor and make that appointment for neutering (whatever that means).  I will let you know how that goes.
