MAY 2007

Sunday services begin at 10:30 am. Please join us for refreshments after the service.

May 6: New Member Welcome and Recognition Sunday: "An Ever Widening Circle" - Rev. Michelle Tonozzi

He drew a circle that shut me out/ Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout/But love and I had the wit to sin/We drew a circle that took him in. - Edwin Markham. We seek to be an inclusive faith. How wide is our circle? Are there limits to who's included?

This Sunday is New Member Welcome and Recognition Sunday. As a part of the service we will officially welcome and recognize those who have recently signed the membership book and made a commitment to join with us in religious fellowship. Soup and Bread will be served after the service. Everyone is invited - come and get to know those who are new among us.

May 13: "MUSIC FOR MOTHER'S DAY"

Alan Phillips has planned a special Mother's Day Intergenerational Music Program. The program will feature our own musical talent. The choir and other participants have prepared some special music to inspire us.

May 20: Flower Communion Sunday: "The One and the Many" - Rev. Michelle Tonozzi

In his recent book The Dignity of Difference Rabbi Jonathan Sacks writes, "If we are to find an idea equal to the challenge of our time it must come from within the great religious traditions themselves... The test of faith is whether I can make a space for the difference of the "other." We are enlarged by our differences."

We will celebrate the uniquely Unitarian ritual of Flower Communion as a part of today's service. This ritual symbolizes the beauty that our diversity brings to our common endeavor. Please bring the gift of a flower, or flowers, to create one big beautiful bouquet from our individual offerings. (A 30 minute concert will follow coffee time at 12:15 by Eileen Reagan. Details inside.)
