September 9 " ' Here We Have Gathered '
" - Rev. Michelle Tonozzi
Today we celebrate the annual fall in-gathering of the community as we
begin the 2007-2008 Church Year. Some reflections on what it is that calls
us to come together on Sundays throughout the year and from year to year.
We will recognize and install those who have been elected to serve on the
Fellowship Board of Trustees in the coming year, as well as those folks
who have volunteered to guide and teach our young people this year.
A Fall Harvest potluck lunch follows the service. Bring the bounty
from your summer's harvest to share! All are welcome. Visitors:
please be our guests.
Greeters: Wayne and Amy Johnson / Coffee: Wayne Backman and Terry Krause

SPECIAL MUSIC PROGRAM
September 30
In collaboration with the Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud, British
violinist Chloe Hanslip, a former child prodigy who will turn 20 on
September 28th, will perform and talk with us on the September 30th
program at the Fellowship. Although her piano accompanist has an
engagement elsewhere, Chloe generously offered to play solo for a short
time and then engage in conversation with the congregation about her music
and her life. This will be an unusual opportunity to interact personally
with someone of rare talent. Chloe has played the violin since she was 3
and was invited at age 5 by Yehudi Menuhin to study with the Menuhin
School’s main violin teacher. At 7 she and her mother moved to Germany
to study with the legendary Russian violin teacher, Zakhar Bron ---- for
10 years. And at age 10 she made her film debut as a child prodigy
violinist in “Evgeny Onegyn“, with Ralph Fiennes and Liv
Tyler. At 13 she received her first recording contract. We hope that
adults and children alike will come with questions for Chloe about her
music and her life experience.
You can also hear Chloe with her pianist at the Chamber’s opening
concert on September 29th at 7:30 at First United Methodist Church.
